Willow first-below-threshold QEC one day after the 8 December 2024 anchor

The claim - verbatim
Google Quantum AI announced the first below-threshold quantum error correction result (Lambda = 2.14 plus or minus 0.02) on the Willow chip on 9 December 2024 in Nature, one day after Michael Darius Eastwood's 8 December 2024 anchor placing the U = I x R capability-scaling framework on the public evidentiary record. The Willow team's scientific preprint (arXiv:2408.13687) had been public since 24 August 2024, before the anchor; the 9 December date is the Nature publication and public announcement, not the earliest disclosure. The temporal proximity is recorded as convergent timing on shared prior work, not a causal or predictive claim. Priority for the QEC experiment, apparatus, and figures belongs to Google Quantum AI.

Limits and citation guidance - what this claim does not support, and how to cite it
Limits. Convergent event, not caused by the manuscript. Do not phrase as 'predicted the Willow experiment'; the 8 Dec anchor identifies only a directional recursion-drives-capability thesis. The evidence register reclassified the underlying result as prior work on 2 August 2026 (preprint 24 August 2024); every one-day statement must carry the preprint date.
