Summary: We respect your privacy. We collect minimal data, never sell your information, and use cookies only for essential functionality and anonymous analytics.
1. Who We Are
This website promotes Infinite Architects: Intelligence, Recursion, and the Creation of Everything by Michael Darius Eastwood. The site is operated from London, United Kingdom.
For privacy enquiries, contact: michael@michaeldariuseastwood.com
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Newsletter signup: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address.
- Contact forms: If you contact us, we collect the information you provide.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics data: We measure visits with our own self-hosted, cookie-free instrument running on our hosting provider’s edge. It records the page requested, country (never city), whether the request came from a browser or an automated crawler, and the referring site. IP addresses are not stored: a one-way hash that changes daily is kept for same-day unique counting and cannot identify you or link your visits across days.
- Technical data: Browser type, device type, and screen resolution to ensure the site displays correctly.
2.3 What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect payment information (purchases are handled by Amazon)
- We do not track individual users across websites
- We do not collect sensitive personal data
3. How We Use Your Information
- To send you our newsletter (if you subscribed)
- To respond to your enquiries
- To improve the website experience
- To understand aggregate visitor patterns
4. Cookies
We use cookies for:
- Essential cookies: Remember your cookie consent preference
- Analytics and advertising cookies (only if you click Accept): Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, the Meta (Facebook) pixel, Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session replay) and the LinkedIn Insight Tag load only after you accept the cookie banner. If you click Reject, or make no choice, none of them load and the site stays cookie-free apart from your saved preferences.
- Preference cookies: Remember if you have seen certain elements (like popups)
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site will still function, though some features may be limited.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Netlify: Website hosting and edge delivery
- Google Fonts: Typography
- Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Clarity and LinkedIn (consent-gated): Audience measurement, heatmaps and book-promotion conversion tracking, loaded only after you accept cookies
- Kit (ConvertKit): Newsletter subscriptions are processed by Kit when you submit the signup form
- Amazon Associates: Book links carry an affiliate tag; as an Amazon Associate the site earns from qualifying purchases at no cost to you
- Amazon: Book sales (clicking purchase links takes you to Amazon's site)
Each service has its own privacy policy governing their data practices.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to:
