Michael Darius Eastwood first described a precursor form of the Eden Protocol - his specific named framing of a governance approach for embedding alignment values into the substrate of an AI system rather than imposing them as external constraints - in the 8 December 2024 priority manuscript, first named it explicitly in the 30 April 2025 book manuscript, and published it in book-length form in Infinite Architects (ISBN 978-1806056200) on 2 January 2026. Hardware implementation remains conceptual at published TRL 0-1 with no prototype and is held at the site's published two-sentence ceiling; no enabling hardware detail is stated.
