The Honey Architecture: an idea in the book, named later
1 min read · ~110 wordsThe word honey is not in Infinite Architects. The idea it names is. Chapter 10 says that “recursive systems that embed empathy may be more stable than those that do not”, and goes on: “The mathematics of compounding suggests that caring systems accumulate strength while exploitative systems eventually consume their own foundations.” Chapter 2 states the property: “Values must be load-bearing. They must be embedded so deeply into the system's architecture that removing them would not modify the system but destroy it.” I first published the name honey in Paper VI, The Honey Architecture, on 16 March 2026, for safety mixed into what a system optimises. Paper VI tests the idea in toy systems, and says those results “do not constitute proof that the same dynamics hold in frontier AI systems”.
