What is the ARC and Eden research programme?

The ARC and Eden research programme is Michael Darius Eastwood's public artificial-intelligence-alignment research suite, anchored by two structures: the ARC Principle framework, which models capability as U = I x R with alpha proposed as a ceiling of two, and the Eden Protocol governance architecture, which proposes embedding ethical values as substrate-level constraints. The programme is published on the Open Science Framework under DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/6C5XB.

The programme comprises 22 canonical papers dated from Paper I on 17 January 2026 to Paper IX on 18 March 2026, together with a foundational cross-domain paper on 13 February 2026, an executive summary, an Eden Vision philosophical companion, an Eden Engineering research note, and additional numbered works. Empirical results are honestly bounded: an initial sequential-recursion exponent of about 2.24 was formally retracted; the current robust estimate is approximately 0.49; the parallel-recursion exponent is approximately zero; the alpha > 1 case is treated as an open pre-registered prediction.
