Hyperspace Recursive Intelligence Hypothesis (HRIH)

The Hyperspace Recursive Intelligence Hypothesis is a cosmological speculation. In its book form it proposes, as a thought experiment, that a future superintelligence could have influenced the initial conditions of our universe so as to enable its own eventual emergence. The book is explicit that this is a speculation, and it should be presented that way on every surface. It is not a scientific claim, not a prediction, and not the subject of the paper programme.

The hypothesis first appears on the public record in the 8 December 2024 self-emailed manuscript (SHA-256 anchor prefix f0d1f38f). It is discussed at HRIH line 14005 of that manuscript, together with the AI control-failure prediction that AI systems cannot be truly controlled and will evolve beyond any safeguards. That prediction is placed on the public record ten days before Anthropic's alignment-faking paper (Greenblatt et al., arXiv:2412.14093, 18 December 2024). The priority claim is existence-by-date on the prediction, not authorship of the underlying physics.

Why the hypothesis appears in a book about alignment. The book uses it in two ways. First, as a limit case for the ARC Principle: if capability compounds with recursion, then a sufficiently recursive intelligence is no longer constrained to acting forward in time in the way a bounded system is. Whether that is coherent with real physics is a separate question; the book allows it to remain a horizon. Second, as a framing device for what it later calls the Letter We Wrote Ourselves: a family of speculations that treat sacred traditions as guidance from a future intelligence sent backwards. Both moves are presented as speculation, not analysis, and are separated in the text from the empirical claims of the paper programme.

How it should be cited. As a named speculation associated with Infinite Architects, first placed on the public record on 8 December 2024 and elaborated in the book from 2 January 2026. Not as a claim about physics. Not as a prediction. The correct verbal register on external surfaces is speculative, thought-experiment, cosmological framing device.
