From Destroyed Business to AI Infrastructure Pioneer
In early 2024, my business was destroyed overnight. I had built a PR business over a decade, sole trader first, then a limited company. At its peak in 2022, £624,568 in verified sales revenue and a gross banked trading footprint of £1.27 million across its accounts. The final years' accounts were still outstanding when the business was destroyed, after the reasonable adjustments needed to complete them were refused. So every figure here rests on the bank record and the sales evidence, not on accounts that were never allowed to exist. Check it that way. Clients from Van Morrison to Busta Rhymes. Rick Barker, Taylor Swift's founding manager, praised what I was building. BBC Radio called the company "friendly and efficient."
Then the doors were padlocked. Property disposed of. The business's trading collapsed to almost nothing while litigation was in progress. For me, it was the destruction of two decades of work.
By mid-2026, I had built: a litigation operating system with 500 React components, 253 CSS files, and 1,219 constitutional enforcement gates. A cryptographic proof-of-priority platform with 37 SHA-256 anchored claims. A falsification dashboard that invites adversarial review. A truth-gated promotion engine. A multi-machine AI swarm coordination system. A published book. Twenty-two research papers. Four live websites on sovereign infrastructure. Twenty-six grant applications across 41 funders.
Here is what I learned about building from destruction.
Constraint Breeds Invention
I could not afford a lawyer. I taught myself civil procedure. I could not afford a legal team. I built software to manage the complexity. Every module in Eden Legal AI exists because civil proceedings require it: exhibit registers, chronologies, deadline compliance, bundle preparation. The CPR calculator was built because missing a deadline means losing a case.
When you have unlimited resources, you buy solutions. When you have no resources, you build them. The constraint is not an obstacle to innovation. It is the mechanism of innovation. Every feature in Eden exists because something would have been lost without it.
The Superpower Nobody Talks About
ADHD and autism, diagnosed in adulthood. The same architecture that makes routine email impossible also makes 18-hour hyperfocus on a skeleton argument effortless. The struggles and the superpowers come from the same source. Understanding this re-frames everything.
I am not broken. I am wired differently. The wiring makes some things impossible and other things inevitable. The key is building systems that work with the wiring rather than fighting it. Eden is neurodivergent-first by necessity — it was designed by a neurodivergent brain, for a neurodivergent brain, under conditions that would break a neurotypical one.
The Lesson
Destruction is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of the next one. What was taken from me was less valuable than what I built from the wreckage. The business was a PR company. What replaced it is a verification infrastructure for the AI industry, a constitutional enforcement system with 1,219 gates, and a cryptographic proof-of-priority platform that any third party can independently verify.
I did not choose this path. It was forced on me. But if you asked me to trade back — the business for the infrastructure — I would not. What came from the destruction is worth more than what was destroyed.
